Sleep Music for Jeff was written to capture tenderness. To express how it feels when you first are beginning to love someone and you are first watching them sleeping. Maybe it’s very late at night or very early in the morning and it’s quiet. It’s a lullaby. You can hear it turn bittersweet for a moment towards the end. That’s when the uncertainess creeps in. I also had Jeff Buckley in the back of my mind, as I often do, and the song is a little bit of a farewell to him.
